A common point of Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa is the rich tourism resources and human nature. Both areas have dense history and values of traditional culture, national spirit, and the convergence of beautiful and unique natural scenery with two UNESCO World Heritage site is the citadel of Ho dynasty and Trang An tourism area. In particular, Ninh Binh is highlighted by cultural and geological values, a place bearing hallmark on the history of the natural evolution in the south of the northern delta and mark the cultural reconciliation process of ancient Vietnamese people. This place still preserves a complex of ancient monuments over hundreds of years ago such as King Dinh Tien Hoang temple, the temple of King Le Dai Hanh in Hoa Lu ancient capital and Trang An tourism area, a destination of cultural, spiritual, ecological rarity of Vietnam. In particular, the Bai Dinh pagoda with massive Buddhist architecture located located on approximately 700 hectares of the Bich Dong - Tam Coc - area, nicknamed as Halong bay on land with the rocks, caves, rivers, streams, containing pristine natural beauty.

Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh tours have a favourable condition is the transit zone between the two deltas, a natural connection for development. Therefore the close cooperation will promote the strength and potentials, boost tourism development. However the cooperation needs a strategic tourism such as joint activities to implement the National year for tourism in 2015 with the theme connect the world heritages in two provinces. This also place issues in building tourism products, travel routes connecting heritages, promoting the image of a tourist destination alluring visitors.

According to the travel experts at a recent seminar on tourism link between Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa, one of the first elements when referring to the tourism connection is the renovation and upgrading of roads between the two provinces and tourist sites to take visitors to. In order to timely prepare for the National Tourism Year 2015, Ninh Binh and Thanh Hoa need to quickly upgrade the national highway 45 connecting destinations of Trang An - Ninh Binh and Lam Kinh ancient capital, Ho dynasty capital and Sam Son beach resort of Thanh Hoa.
